Yes! I've recently been taking up sugarcane farming and crimefighting, and i've found both very profitable!
Some tips on sugery rewards: many of the blocks can be saved up to sell, so don't waste them! And broadcasting for free surg is pretty useful, but don't promise them a world lock if you fail.
