Put this on top of a bunch of items you want to give away. Once placed, anybody can break it and get the items! The mystery is that certain items will transform into something more festive when it explodes...

Mystery Pinata is a placeable block which was introduced during Cinco De Mayo Week 2014. The place block is public so it can be smashed by anyone regardless of locks. It is similar to Ultra Pinata in function but placed on top of a stack of items will store them inside as prizes for breaking it. There are some special items that will transform when placed inside:

Lucky Pinata Hat will transform into Fiesta Sombrero
Crimson Eagle Wings will transform into Parrot Wings
Cactus will transform into Party Cactus
Burrito will transform into Pet Burrito
Any of the Dragon Hands will transform into Fiesta Dragon
Any of the Superhero Capes will transform into Cape of Shadows
Any of the Growsabers or Golden Sword will transform into Rapier
Any type of the Luchador items will transform into according type of El Verdurgo

A new item was introduced on Cinco De Mayo 2016, in line with the Mystery Pinata:

Pinata Pal: Made by placing Mystery Pinata on a dropped Mystery Pinata

It can be obtained by smashing Ultra Pinatas during "Pinata Bash!" event. Wearing Lucky Pinata Hat while smashing Ultra pinata increases chances of getting one.

Trivia

Tip: NEVER use this or a regular pinata as storage, etc, due to the fact even in a locked world, anybody can break it open. This item in particular is quite rare anyways, so it's important to be careful what you do with it.
