The Public Lava is an unobtainable solid lava pain foreground block which was added alongside the City Pack on August 18, 2013.
Function
Public Lava are generally used during the Dr. Destructo special event, where Dr. Destructo has the ability to spawn them in the world. Since it is considered a public block, anyone in the world can destroy Public Lava regardless of if they have access to the lock.
Being a lava pain block, a Public Lava knocks the player back and puts the player on fire until the player stops all motion when touched. A player will die after making contact with a lava pain block five times in quick succession (recovering from damage takes roughly 5 seconds), but a player with the Fireproof mod may take up to ten consecutive hits.
When locking a Public Lava or any other public block with a Builder's Lock and setting it to only allow building, any other player will be limited from breaking the block.
Trivia
- On August 14, 2014, developer Seth gave some Public Lava out to the public by mistake at the Super Mod Dance Party.
- Being unmovable, Public Lavas are unable to be picked up using a Flashback Flan.
