The Irradiated mod is granted when the player finds a radioactive item via a Geiger Counter. It prevents the user from using a Geiger Counter.

The https://growtopiawiki.nbg1.your-objectstorage.com/uploads/8/8f/ItemSprites.png Uranium Necklace and the https://growtopiawiki.nbg1.your-objectstorage.com/uploads/8/8f/ItemSprites.png Uranium Chair (while sitting on it) are the only items that grant the Irradiated mod for an indefinite amount of time, while successfully finding a radioactive item grants the player the mod for 30 minutes.
