The Telephone is a splicable non-solid foreground block which was added as part of the Systems Update.

Function

A Telephone allows the player to reach certain NPCs, such as Crazy Jim or the Sales-Man.

Wrenching a Telephone opens a window where the player can enter a 5-digit phone number. After reaching a valid number, the player can then choose to select one of the dialog options or hang up the phone instead.

Players can only access a Telephone from a 3-tile distance. Attempting to wrench the phone from a longer distance by wearing certain items that increase the player's build range, such as the Exquisite Trowel, will result in a message saying, "The phone cord doesn't reach that far!"

During a g-Virus Pandemic, any bid to use the Telephone will result in the message, "All you hear is a eerie buzzing sounds. Guess telephones don't work during an apocalypse."
