This energy blaster looks impressive, but actually has no impact on our world. Rather, it creates a stream of neutrons that attracts spirits. Ghosts can't escape the beam. Which reminds me: Don't ever cross your beam with somebody else's! That would be bad.

The Neutron Gun is a hand item that was introduced in the B.O.O update on the 15th of July 2016. It shoots a beam (requires equipping Neutron Pack) that pulls Ghosts when they touch the beam. If two or more beams cross, both players that shot the beams will respawn.
