The Irradiated mod is granted when the player finds a radioactive item via a Geiger Counter. It prevents the user from using a Geiger Counter.
The https://cdn.growtopiawiki.com/uploads/8/8f/ItemSprites.png Uranium Necklace is the only item that grants the Irradiated mod for an indefinite amount of time, while successfully finding a radioactive item grants the player the mod for 30 minutes.
