Gems are the sole currency in Growtopia (Besides the imaginary currency used when trading items, or the Rarity rating). Gems can be found through IAP's or normal means.
There is a higher chance of getting gems from trees, so it is a good idea to plant a large amount of trees in a line and simply break them all. The best seed for this is the Grass seed.
If you have a Mystery Block seed, each block broken will give you 10-50 gems. However, the extreme rarity of the seed makes this a bad suggestion.
Another item that will give you even more gems (up to 200) is the pot of gold. however also very rare and valued at 200 rarity the most rare in stats item in the game, it also isnt very good of an idea.
