When equipped, the Shadow Soul grants the Double Jump: Shadow Soul mod which allows the player to jump for a second time in mid-air.

The Shadow Soul bears some resemblance to the Shade, an enemy in the Metroidvania game Hollow Knight, which appears when The Knight's shell breaks.
