Gems

Gems are the currency in the Growtopia Store. A yellow gem counts as 1 gem, a blue gem counts as 5 gems, a red gem counts as 10 gems, a green gem counts as 50 gems, and a purple gem counts as 100 gems. You cannot have 5 yellow gems placed in one block or anything like that, as they will merge into a blue gem. For example: 5 yellow gems=1 blue gem, 2 blue gems=1 red gem and so on. If you place gems in a block, place some blocks in there, and break the blocks, you will find that you cannot obtain the block back, or a seed if there are already gems in the block, it will only drop gems or nothing.

Gems are obtained randomly by breaking blocks or trees, and can also be obtained by buying them or using Tapjoy.

Many people farm items for gems, such as Sugar Cane, Venus Guytraps, Pinball Bumpers, and many more.
