When equipped, the Mining Mech grants the Punch Damage: Mining Mech mod, which allows the player to break blocks faster. Additionally, in a similar manner to the Digger's Spade, it can break Cave Dirt, Dark Cave Background, Magic Infused Stone and Magic Infused Stone Background in a single hit.

The Mining Mech's equip and unequip messages are a reference to Heigh Ho, a song from Walt Disney's 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
