This item was added with the B.O.O Update. You can get 10 of them in the B.O.O Training Pack. They are used to catch Ghosts in worlds. You need to pull ghosts above the placed Ghost Jar, which will stay about five seconds before vanishing, to catch them. Successfully captured Ghosts will turn a Ghost Jar into a Ghost-In-A-Jar. However, capturing an Ancestor Ghost will give you an Ancestor Mooncake.
