The Dark Cave Background is an unsplicable non-solid background block which was added as part of the Spelunkorama! update. Multiple layers of Dark Cave Backgrounds are naturally generated in cave-blasted worlds.

Function

As a dark background block, a Dark Cave Background enshrouds the tile it is placed on in darkness.

Light source blocks may provide light to neighboring dark tiles when placed. In a similar manner, a player can illuminate their dark surroundings by equipping certain light source clothes. The Night Vision Goggles disregards darkness completely.
