Obtaining

When first introduced during Valentine's Week 2016, up to four Golden Booty Chests could spawn in a world if it contained a high combined rarity of blocks in the world. This was done to combat players placing Rocks in a world to obtain Heartstones.

However, due to continued complaint, during Valentine's Week 2017, these chests would no longer spawn in worlds and could only be obtained from the Share the Love Special Event over the course of Valentine's Week where one Golden Booty Chest would be automatically rewarded to everyone in the world.

During Valentine's Week 2018, this changed again and players could only obtain the Golden Booty Chest from the Valentine's Cards special event.

During Valentine's Week 2019, the Valentine's Goodies was replaced with five Golden Booty Chests due to players selectively filling their inventories with junk items to obtain the rarer items.

Similar to the Heartstone, upon smashing the Golden Booty Chest, the following items can be obtained:

Trivia

Chests broken after the events still drop their items.
Despite Heartstones being replaced with the Golden Booty Chests, the heartstones received a new recipe and can be made made by using Love Potion #8 on Rocks.
As of Valentine's Week 2020, breaking 100 Golden Booty Chests will reward a player with a Super Golden Booty Chest which has a higher chance at obtaining rarer items.
