Different properties of the Fist such as its reach, strength, and appearance, can be modified with certain equipment items which add mods. The Pickaxe, Just One Boxing Glove, Elvish Longbow, Cyclopean Visor, Tommygun and Heartbow, among other options, all have different effects on the Fist.

If a Punch Jammer is toggled on in a world, no player is capable of interacting with any other player by punching them.

Trying to recycle or offer the Fist in trade displays the message, "You'd be sorry if you lost that!" The prompt when trying to drop the Fist simply reads, "You can't drop that." Sometimes it randomly says "Fist Me Daddy"
