Locks 48 tiles (It's true! It only locks a 9x9 square around the lock!),but in The Store Button In The Game, It Says Protect Up to 50 Tiles. You can get this only in the store. It is a perma-item (goes back to your inventory, if not full, when destroyed. If full, it drops on the ground.)

It can be bought in the store for 200 gems.
