The most common of the four basic blocks (along with Dirt, Lava, and Rock).

It's a seed where all other blocks are essentially spliced from, making it an important element in Growtopia. This Item cannot be spliced. It can be found in newly created worlds, except for some Blasted Worlds. Placing two Cave Background next to each other will cause them to join, creating a continuous pattern. When you recycle it you get from 0 to 1 gem each. It is just far away dirt.
