Ubisoft Club Rewards

Main article: Ubisoft Club Rewards

The Ubisoft Club Rewards system was one of the few features available only to the discontinued console edition of Growtopia. By earning achievements, players could obtain exclusive tokens, which would be able to be traded for unique items.

Four of the exclusive items obtained through this system has been added to the PC/mobile version of Growtopia: Glowing Shirt, Plunger, The Brother Hood, and the Unicorn. One, however, is still yet to be added: the Energy Drink.

Item's method of obtaining is currently unknown.
In-game description is not available.

Left Pointy Sign, as its name might suggest, was a solid sign foreground block which was an early template for signs in the game. This item was scrapped from the game in its beta stage. It seemingly behaved in a similar manner to the Pointy Sign, and had the differect arrow at desing as well.

The item was completely overwritten by Daisy, along with its data and sprite.

Right Pointy Sign
Item's method of obtaining is currently unknown.
In-game description is not available.

Right Pointy Sign, as its name might suggest, was a solid sign foreground block which was an early template for signs in the game. This item was scrapped from the game in its beta stage. It seemingly behaved in a similar manner to the Pointy Sign, and had the same design as well.

The item was completely overwritten by Portcullis, along with its data and sprite.

Below is a piece of text from item_definitions.txt, a file that was included in certain older builds of the game, indicating that Lock once existed in the game:[1]

Nyan Hat / Taco Dog/Turtle Hat

1 could be obtained from purchasing the item itself for 25,000 gems in the Growtopia Store.
"NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN"

The Nyan Hat was a hat item which was added alongside Phonecats Hat on March 7, 2013. Both items were based on the Nyan Cat internet meme.

In May 2013, Christopher Torres, the copyright owner of Nyan Cat, sued Warner Bros. for an unauthorized usage of the character.[2] In light of this, the developers decided to alter the Nyan Hat's design in order to avoid any copyright issue themselves.

1 could be obtained from purchasing the item itself for 25,000 gems in the Growtopia Store.
In-game description is not available.

Per fan suggestion, the Taco Dog was introduced on May 11, 2013 as the Nyan Hat's replacement. While the Taco Dog seemed like a good idea at that time, it was soon discovered that the Taco Dog was another creation of Torres.[3] A poll was soon posted, asking the playerbase for ideas for the second redesign.[4]

The possible choices for the redesign at that time were Yerfdog, Piggy Bank, Turtle, Kitty, and Puppy. The poll closed on May 13, with Turtle winning 45.12% of the votes. The Turtle Hat was then rolled out on May 16. A teaser was first posted on the RTsoft forums hours before its release.[5]

A Burglar

A Burglar
Item's method of obtaining is currently unknown.
In-game description is not available.

A Burglar was a solid SFX foreground block which was added as part of the GROWTECHPHARMA world event on May 16, 2013, a day before the addition of Zombie Defense Pack. When a player punched the block, it played a hurt animation and said, "Ow, Stop!".

The item was completely overwritten by Tombstone, along with its data and sprite. Its sound effect is now played only when an Awkward Friendly Unicorn is punched.

Energy Drink

"Full of completely harmless and almost certainly all-natural chemicals guaranteed by totally-trustworthy GrowTech engineers to sharpen your wits! Grants a 30% bonus to all XP gained for 5 whole days after you drink it!"

The Energy Drink was a consumable redeemable as a rare Ubisoft Club Reward.

When consumed, it granted the XP Buff: Energy Drinks mod to the player, which gave a 30% bonus to all XP gained by the player for 5 days.

Item Textures

Phonecats Hat

Main article: Phonecats Hat

The Phonecats Hat is an unobtainable hat item which was added on March 7, 2013, exclusively given to Phonecats/pcats (YouTube: phonecatss) for his contributions as a content creator during Growtopia's early stages.[8]

Its old design was similar to the Nyan Hat, both of which were based on the Nyan Cat internet meme. The item's sprite was changed sometime between SummerFest 2013 and Rise of the Desert Dragons (a few months after Nyan Hat was replaced by Turtle Hat) in order to prevent any legal issue.[9][10]

Emerald Lock

Main article: Emerald Lock

The Emerald Lock is a solid lock foreground block which was added as part of St. Patrick's Week 2015 on March 13, 2015. It gives an effect akin to that of Arroz Con Pollo, giving a 10% chance of adding an extra gem drop when breaking blocks.

On April 2, 2016, hours after the Artsy April update was launched, the texture of the Emerald Lock was changed. 4 dark green dots were added on both the left and right side of the lock, seemingly mimicking a four-leaf clover, to prevent players from painting regular World Locks to make them look like an Emerald Lock.

Pineapple

Main article: Pineapple

The Pineapple is a splicable consumable which was added as part of Super Pineapple Party 2015.

Before Super Pineapple Party 2016, the Pineapple had a different sprite (found in tiles_page4.rttex). The sprite was seemingly changed in order to match the one used for Weather Machine - Pineapples.

War Balloons and Bucket of War Balloons

Main article: War Balloon
Main article: Bucket of War Balloons

The War Balloons and Buckets of War Balloons are unsplicable consumables which were added as part of Balloon Warz 2017. There are 3 War Balloon variants ( Small, Medium, and Large), as well as 3 Bucket of War Balloons variants ( Small, Medium, and Large).

Ever since Brr-lloon Warz 2017, the Balloon Warz event has always been carried out around winter. Subsequently, the sprites of all War Balloon and Bucket of War Balloons items have been permanently redesigned to appear as if they have been covered by snow and ice.

Riding Turkey

Main article: Riding Turkey

The Riding Turkey is an unsplicable feet item that was added as part of Thanksgiving Week 2018 on November 22, 2018.

When it was first added, the Riding Turkey had a different inventory icon, presumably based on an early design of the item.[11] By December 2018, the sprite has been changed to the one currently used.

Black Cat Ears

Main article: Black Cat Ears

The Black Cat Ears is an unsplicable hat item which was added as part of Player Appreciation Week 2019 Day 3 on August 21, 2019.

An update on August 23, 2019 saw a redesign to the Black Cat Ears. JamSandwich, who worked as part of the developer team, pushed for this change after reviewing the playerbase's reaction towards the previous design.[12] The old sprites could be found in player_cosmetics1.rttex and player_cosmetics1_icon.rttex, and no longer exist in the current versions of the files.
