History
The Growtoken system was first implemented into the game on the 30th of March, 2014. At first, Growtokens were extremely difficult to obtain, leading players to believe that it was an April Fools prank and the item did not exist. However, a bug was discovered in the system which meant that people were not given their deserved tokens which was later fixed.

History
After more than two years later, after many players complained about the unfairness and scams which were going on in the community, the entire Growtoken system was changed during the Systems Update on the 2nd of September, 2016. Crazy Jim was introduced and players could earn Growtokens from Daily Quests and Daily Bonuses. A new rating system was introduced which allowed players to rate players worlds from one to five. If the world was placed in top rankings, they would receive Growtokens, depending on their rank.
The Growtoken system was implemented into the game on 30 March 2014. Players were awarded tokens based on the number of players who visited their worlds the previous day. This system was kept for over 2 years until it was completely revamped on 2 September 2016, in the Systems Update.

In the Systems Update, a rating and a daily quest system was introduced, which introduced multiple ways of getting Growtokens from Worlds and Quests alike.
However, many players started to complain after rating groups were formed which made the competition unfair. During the fourth Anniversary Week on the 6th of January, 2017, the entire rating system was scrapped (players could still rate worlds but would not give any Growtokens). Instead, the Sales-Man was introduced which allowed players to purchase Growtokens in exchange for Caduceus or Wolf Tickets. World Of The Day also gave out 10 Growtokens and Video Of The Week gave out 20 Growtokens. Seth and Hamumu stated that they would introduce more methods of earning Growtokens.

When the fourth Anniversary Week came around, the Developers have ultimately decided that Growtokens will not come from Worlds at all, due to only encouraging terrible behavior.
During the Night of the Sewing Dead update on the 3rd of February, 2017, Growtokens were purchasable from Sales-Man for Zombie Brains and during the Cooking Update on the 1st of April, 2017, they were also purchasable from Sales-Man for Mac n' Cheese Stars.

They also said that they will be adding new ways to get growtokens in the future.

Method of Obtaining
In the past, players would obtain Growtokens by having players visit their worlds. Then, the Systems Update introduced new ways of obtaining Growtokens, such as ratings and a Daily Quest system. However, as of the fourth Anniversary Week, Growtokens cannot be earned from Worlds at all.

Players can also complete the Daily Quest given by Crazy Jim, which rewards them 1 Growtoken.

If the player has achieved an Awesomeness percentage of 60% and a player level of 60, the player would achieve the Life Bonus, and he or she will be granted 1 Growtoken if the player has completed all 3 of the Life Goals in a day.

If the player has achieved an Awesomeness percentage of 65% and a player level of 65, the player would achieve the Mega Bonus, and he or she be granted 2 Growtokens if the player has completed all of his or her bonuses in a day.

Winning World of the Day will now earn you 10 Growtokens, and winning Video of the Week will earn you 20.

A Growtoken is also included in the Gem Fountain & It's Rainin' Gems bundle. Gem Fountain gives you 40,000 Gems and a Growtoken, It's Raining Gems gives you 100,000 Gems, a Megaphone and 2 Growtokens.

Growtokens can also be obtained by trading the Sales-Man with Caducei, Wolf Tickets, Zombie Brains or Mac n' Cheese Stars. CAWTZBMC

Growtokens can also be bought from Locke The Traveling Salesman and Lock-Bot, at a price of 1 Diamond Lock.L
