Either way the sprite format causes a lot of confusion for editors, the Wombat database hasn't been updated in almost half a year, and looking up item ID's each time is a pain, so ditching them is probably a good idea.

The problem is that every item page would have to be fixed, and there's kind of a lot of those. Maybe it could be done alongside an overhaul of the infoboxes.

Just checked for myself, and you're absolutely right. Seed colours also don't show up.
