Being a toggleable animated foreground block, a Musical Gong can be toggled on or off via punching. When toggled on, a Musical Gong will change its appearance, showing a 2-frame animation, and play a piece of music.

In the game files, the Musical Gong's music is named theme3.
The same music can be heared at the world selection menu during Harvest Festival.
